Non-parametric estimation of age-related centiles over wide age ranges.

A new method for estimating age-related centile curves has been developed, which is suitable for measurement covering a wide age range. The method was used to calculate weight centile curves of 8995 children from birth to 6 years obtained by the Collaborating Centre for Physical Growth and Psychosocial Development of Children in Shanghai, China.

Age-specific population centiles for androgen status in men.

AIM The age-specific population profiles in men of circulating testosterone and its two bioactive metabolites dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and estradiol (E2) across the adult lifespan and its determinants are not well described. OBJECTIVE Our objective was to deduce smoothed age-specific centiles of circulating testosterone, DHT, and E2 in men using pooled data from population-based studies in t...

Least – Squares Method For Estimating Diffusion Coefficient

Abstract: Determination of the diffusion coefficient on the base of solution of a linear inverse problem of the parameter estimation using the Least-square method is presented in this research. For this propose a set of temperature measurements at a single sensor location inside the heat conducting body was considered. The corresponding direct problem was then solved by the application of the ...

LEAST – SQUARES METHOD FOR ESTIMATING DIFFUSION COEFFICIENT

Determining the diffusion coefficient based on the solution of the linear inverse problem of the parameter estimation by using the Least-square method is presented. A set of temperature measurements at a single sensor location inside the heat conducting body is required. The corresponding direct problem will be solved by an application of the heat fundamental solution.

Centiles for adult head circumference.

Reference range for head circumference on the Tanner charts do not go beyond age 16. In this study the head circumference and heights of 354 adults in two British centres were measured. The centile charts constructed from these measurements show that adult head circumference is related to height. The mean head circumference of a male of average height is above the 97th centile for a 16 year old...
