Abstract:

Previous studies have shown that induction of 2kidney -1clip Goldblatt hypertension (2K-1C) induction in rats eliminates hypertensive response after inactivating of the central nucleus of the amygdale (ACe). The present study investigated the possibility of alteration in local renin angiotensin system (RAS) activity in ACe after hypertension induction. Clamps were placed on the left renal arteries of a group of Wistar rats to induce 2K-1C Goldblatt hypertension. A similar surgery without clipping was done in sham group. Rats were studied six weeks after surgery. The mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) were measured directly with indwelling arterial cannulas under urethane anesthesia. Rats received bilateral cannulation of the ACe for angiotensin I (AngI) microinjection. Before and 5,10,20,40 and 60 minutes after bilateral microinjection of Ang I (1 µL, 100 µM) into ACe, MAP and HR measured and compared between groups. In normotensive rats, significant changes in MAP or HR were not seen. Meanwhile, in hypertensive rats MAP significantly increased 5, 10, and 20 minutes after (p

بررسی اثرات تزریق سوبسترای رنین در هسته آمیگدال مرکزی بر فشارخون شریانی و ضربان قلب در موش صحرایی مبتلا به پرفشاری خون کلیوی ـ عروقی

Introduction & Objectives: Previous studies have revealed that induction of two kidney-one clip (2K1C) Goldblatt hypertension in rats eliminates hypertensive response after inactivating of the Central Nucleus of the Amygdala (CA). The present study investigated the possibility of alteration in local Renin Angiotensin System (RAS) activity in CA after hypertension induction and evaluation of car...

Angiotensin II, sodium, and cardiovascular hypertrophy in spontaneously hypertensive rats.

Angiotensin II (Ang II) may cause cardiovascular hypertrophy as a consequence of increased blood pressure or possibly by direct trophic actions. To dissociate Ang II and blood pressure in young spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), we used sodium loading during angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor treatment. Animals were treated between 6 and 10 weeks of age with perindopril to lower Ang II...

Metaischemic (Post-Goldblatt) Hypertensive Vascular Disease in Rats

Malignant hypertension was induced in rats by aortic ligation above the left renal artery. After 7and 28-day periods of hypertension, the characteristics of the vascular disease were studied and the kidney below the aortic ligation was removed. The blood pressure and the vascular disease were reexamined at the end of the first and fourth weeks after nephrectomy. The evolution of the vascular di...

garlic powder effect on plasma renin activity, and cardiovascular effects of intravenous angiotensin i and angiotensin ii in normotensive and hypertensive male rats

conclusions garlic powder consumption can reduce blood pressure, yet in this model, it did not have an effect on the interaction between renin angiotensin system and nitric oxide inhibition. results at the beginning and at the end of experiments, systolic blood pressure was higher in the hypertensive groups than the normotensive group. however, at the end of the study, diastolic blood pressure ...
