Abstract:

The AGV (automated guided vehicle) was introduced in UK in 1953 for transporting. But nowadays, due to their high efficiency, flexibility, reliability, safety and system scalability, they are used in various application in industries. In brief, the AGV robot is a system which typically made up of vehicle chassis, embedded controller, motors, drivers, navigation and collision avoidance sensors, communication device and battery, some of which have load transfer device. In this review paper, based on existing systems, the AGV structures are studied and compared from various point of view and analysis of the AGV structure is done for design. A Threshold Accepting Algorithm for Partitioning Machines in a Tandem Automated Guided Vehicle

Abstract : A tandem automated guided vehicle (AGV) system deals with grouping workstations into some non-overlapping zones , and assigning exactly one AGV to each zone. This paper presents a new non-linear integer mathematical model to group n machines into N loops that minimizes both inter and intra-loop flows simultaneously. Due to computational difficulties of exact methods in solving our pr...

Simulation of automated guided vehicle (AGV) systems based on just-in-time (JIT) philosophy in a job-shop environment

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems have been frequently used as material handling equipment in manufacturing systems since the last two decades. The use of AGV systems has taken attention of practitioners and researchers. Although there are numerous studies concerning with AGV systems in literature, a few of them deal with the adaptation of these systems into JIT systems. Moreover, the faci...

Automated Planning for Spacecraft and Mission Design

Mission design engineers identify a spacecraft design and mission plan that best achieves the mission objectives while staying within cost, mass, and operability constraints. It is often easiest to evaluate a spacecraft design in the context of a detailed mission plan. Generating plans by hand is labor-intensive. We present an AI planning system that automatically generates and evaluates missio...
