Adjustable three color optical filters using ferroelectric -dielectric generalized heterostructures photonic crystals
Authors
Abstract:
Abstract: The current research is aimed to investigate the alterations of its opticalfeatures of novel adjustable three color narrowband optical filters, which comprise ofblue, green and red light. A narrowband adjustable transmission optical filters accordingto dielectric- ferroelectric heterostructures photonic structures are designed using thetransfer-matrix method (TMM). The dependence of the ferroelectric refractive index onthe external applied voltage is considered in our investigations. The transmission spectraof the designed hetrostructures with the most valuable parameters, like repeat cyclecounts number of PCs, external electric field, and incident angle for both TE and TMpolarizations are numerically investigated. The results show that the transmission peaksof three color filter shift toward the shorter wavelength by increasing the incident anglefor both polarization. Also, adjustability of the optical features of the proposedhetrostructures crystals external applied electric field is investigated .Therefore, thesecalculated results reveal an innovative idea for designing the tunable trichromatic filterand display applicationsthis.

Optical spectroscopy of high dielectric contrast 3D photonic crystals
– Spectroscopy was performed along three distinct crystallographic axes of a high refractive index contrast photonic crystal and the spectra were compared with theoretical calculations. Deep dips were observed in the experimental spectra at 2.1 and 3.2μm and predicted by calculations. The photonic crystal was prepared through melt-imbibing of selenium into a self-assembled face-centered-cubic c...

The fabrication of fully three-dimensional photonic crystals with a bandgap at optical wavelengths is demonstrated by way of direct femtosecond laser writing of an organic-inorganic hybrid material with metal-binding moieties, and selective silver coating using electroless plating. The crystals have 600-nm intralayer periodicity and sub-100 nm features, and they exhibit well-defined diffraction...

We show that the coupling of light from an external pointlike light source into a three-dimensional photonic crystal depends on the relative launching position with respect to the crystal lattice as well as on the frequency of light. The results are obtained with a near-field technique which is used to acquire optical information beyond the diffraction limit and to access optical details within...
full textA Novel Structure for Optical Channel Drop Filter using Two-Dimensional Photonic Crystals with Square Lattice
In the present paper a novel structure for optical channel drop filter (CDF) based on photonic crystal ring resonator with circular core has been proposed. In order to design the proposed CDF, the plan wave expansion (PWE) method is applied for calculation of band structure and photonic band gap while the transmission characteristics of proposed CDF have been calculated using the finite differe...
