A study on interval estimation in exponential lifetimes under interval censoring

author

Abstract:

In this study, the interval estimations are proposed for the functions of the parameter in exponential lifetimes, when interval censoring is used. Optimal monitoring time and simulation studies are examined as well as the applicability of the topics.

Cure - rate estimation under Case - 1 interval censoring Running title : Cure - rate under interval censoring

We consider nonparametric estimation of cure-rate based on mixture model under Case-1 interval censoring. We show that the nonparametric maximum-likelihood estimator (NPMLE) of cure-rate is non-unique as well as inconsistent , and propose two estimators based on the NPMLE of the distribution function under this censoring model. We present a cross-validation method for choosing a 'cut-off' point...

Cumulative distribution function estimation under interval censoring case 1

We consider projection methods for the estimation of cumulative distribution function under interval censoring, case 1. Such censored data also known as current status data, arise when the only information available on the variable of interest is whether it is greater or less than an observed random time. Two types of adaptive estimators are investigated. The first one is a two-step estimator b...

Interval Estimation in Exponential Families

In this paper we consider interval estimation of the mean in the natural Exponential family with a quadratic variance function; the family comprises the binomial, Poisson, negative binomial, normal, gamma, and a sixth distribution. For the three discrete cases, the Wald confidence interval and three alternative intervals are examined by means of two term Edgeworth expansions of the coverage pro...

A Consistent Estimator for Uniform Parameter Under Interval Censoring

‎The censored data are widely used in statistical tests and parameters estimation‎. ‎In some cases e.g‎. ‎medical accidents which data are not recorded at the time of occurrence‎, ‎some methods such as interval censoring are used‎. ‎In this paper‎, ‎for a random sample uniformly distributed on the interval (0,θ) ‎the interval censoring have been used‎. ‎A consistent estimator of θ  and some asy...

Estimation of a cumulative distribution function under interval censoring ''case 1'' via warped wavelets

Abstract: The estimation of an unknown cumulative distribution function in the interval censoring “case 1” model from dependent sequences is considered. We construct a new adaptive estimator based on a warped wavelet basis and a hard thresholding rule. Under mild assumptions on the parameters of the model, considering the L2 risk and the weighted Besov balls, we prove that the estimator attains...

Efficient Estimation for the Cox Model with Interval Censoring

The maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for the proportional hazards model with current status data is studied. It is shown that the MLE for the regression parameter is asymptotically normal with vn-convergence rate and achieves the information bound, even though the MLE for the baseline cumulative hazard function only converges at nI/3 rate. Estimation of the asymptotic variance matrix for the ...
