A Review Of DEA Approaches For Health Supply Chain
Authors
Abstract:
More than 200 papers have been published in the last 20 years on the topic of health supply chains (HSC). Looking at the research methodologies employed, less than 15 papers apply data envelopment analysis (DEA) models. This is in contrast to, for example, A Network Data Envelopment Analysis (NDEA) Model for Supply Chain Performance Evaluation where several reviews on respective NDEA models have already been provided. The paper summarizes research on DEA, NDEA, simulation data envelopment analysis (SI-DEA) and stochastic data envelopment analysis (S-DEA) models for health supply chains and thereby contributes to the further substantiation of the field. On the modeling side there are four dominant approaches: Classic-DEA models, NDEA models, SI-DEA models and S-DEA models. The paper ends with suggestions for future research.

An appropriate performance measurement system is an important requirement for the effective management of a supply chain. Two hurdles are present in measuring the performance of a supply chain and its members. One is the existence of multiple measures that characterize the performance of chain members, and for which data must be acquired; the other is the existence of conflicts between the memb...

full textPresenting a New Model for Bank’s Supply Chain Performance Evaluating with DEA Solution Approach
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method for measuring the efficiency of peer decision making units (DMUs) with multiple inputs and outputs. The traditional DEA treats decision making units under evaluation as black boxes and calculates their efficiencies with first inputs and last outputs. This carries the notion of missing some intermediate measures in the process of changing the inputs to...
full textPerformance indicators for supply chain resilience: review and conceptual framework
In the current competitive and dynamic market, customer demands and interests are changing continuously, and hence, risk of disruption in the supply chain is also increasing. To be successful in this scenario, supply chain of a firm should be resilient. Most of the firms realize that with a specific end goal to develop a resilient supply chain, there is a need for assessment of performance. The...
full textSupply Chain Performance Measurement Approaches: Review and Classification
Interest in the topic of supply chain performance measurement has notably increased in the last two decades and considerable research has been conducted in this area. The objective of this paper is not just to review the advancements in theory on supply chain performance measurement per se, but rather to provide a taxonomy with which research in the field can be mapped and evaluated. The need f...
