Abstract:

The present study aims at developing A356/Al2O3(np) nano-composite with a novel and cost effective method for attaining homogeneous dispersion of Al2O3 nanoparticles in the Al matrix. In the current research, Al micro powders distributed on aluminum foil and then Al2O3 nanoparticles ultra-sounded in ethanol and sprayed on Al substrate. Subsequently, the sandwich foil was added to molten A356 during stirring. The nano-composite was characterized through scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for microstructural evaluations. Also, mechanical properties of A356/Al2O3(np) nano-composite was measured through compression and hardness tests. By this novel method an Al based (A356) nano-composite with 2 wt. % Al2O3 nanoparticles was obtained which shows 26.79%, 95.6 % and 43 % enhancement in yield stress, compression strength and hardness, respectively, as compared with the pure alloy processed under the same condition.

Novel Composite Powders with Uniform TiB2 Nano-Particle Distribution for 3D Printing

It is reported that the ductility and strength of a metal matrix composite could be concurrently improved if the reinforcing particles were of the size of nanometers and distributed uniformly. In this paper, we revealed that gas atomization solidification could effectively disperse TiB2 nanoparticles in the Al alloy matrix due to its fast cooling rate and the coherent orientation relationship b...

A novel Al matrix composite reinforced by nano-AlNp network

In pursuit of lightweighting of automobiles and low emission of transportation, the efforts to develop high-strength, heat-resistant and fatigue-resistant Al alloys and/or composites have been ongoing. Here we report a novel Al matrix composite with ultrahigh strength reinforced by a three dimensional network of nano-AlN particles for the first time. The in-situ synthesized AlN particles are co...

Preparation and characterization of Curcumin niosomal nanoparticles via a simple and eco-friendly route

In this investigation, curcumin niosomal nanoparticles were prepared via a simple, efficient and eco-friendly route, thin film hydration (TFH), in the presence of different mixture of the surfactants (tween 60 and span 60). Cholesterol ratio to surfactant, as effective factor, was altered to obtain the optimal nanoparticles. The size, zeta potential, size distribution, entrapment efficiency of ...

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel

to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...

Characterization of Bi2Te3 Nanostructure by Using a Cost-Effective Chemical Solution Route

An efficient and cost-effective approach in the synthesis process of the bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3) powders and pellets were developed based on a chemical solution route. The route consists of dissolving of both the bismuth (III) nitrate pentahydrate, Bi(NO3)3.5H2O, and tellurium dioxide, TeO2 into the same inorganic nitric a...
