A New Design of Log-Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA) Antenna
Authors
Abstract:
This paper presents a new approach for design of the log-periodic dipole array antenna (LPDA) based on using of different design parameters in the LPDA elements to control the antenna behavior. In the proposed procedure, the design parameters can control the value of forward gain over the operating frequency range, and also adjust the gain flatness. Furthermore, this design procedure can decrease the LPDA dimensions in compared to the conventional design. Based on the proposed design method, several LPDA antennas are designed and simulated numerically by the method of moment. The simulation results show that this LPDA design procedure can be a good candidate for design of optimized antenna in different frequency band.

Abstract—A miniaturized printed log-periodic fractal dipole antenna is proposed. Tree fractal structure is introduced in an antenna design and evolves the traditional Euclidean log-periodic dipole array into the log-periodic second-iteration tree-dipole array (LPT2DA) for the first time. Main parameters and characteristics of the proposed antenna are discussed. A fabricated proof-of-concept pro...

In this paper, we make an effort in designing a portable LPDA that suitable with the criteria, specification and practical enough although is the boom length size of the antenna is 3...
full textCircularly Polarized Log-Periodic Dipole Antenna for EMI Measurements
Two types of broad-band antennas are widely used for electromagnetic interference (EMI) measurements in the frequency range from 30 to 1000 MHz. Log-periodic dipole antennas (LPDA) are mainly used for the range above 300 MHz and biconical antennas for the range less than 300 MHz. These two antennas have linear polarization. However, EMI measurements can sometimes be more conveniently made with ...

Abstract—A printed Log-periodic dipole array (LPDA) is presented, operating over the C, X and Ku bands. The antenna feeding structure consists of two coaxial cables, in order to realize an infinite balun which provides the required broadband input matching. The second coaxial cable mirrors the first one, connected to the antenna input, and is capable of both stabilizing the antenna phase center...
full textA Novel Miniaturized Log Periodic Antenna
Log-Periodic Dipole Antenna (LPDA) is a common and important broadband antenna, due to its non-frequency dependent characteristic. However, in the conventional design, the physical size is restricted to the longest oscillator dipole w ith the low est resonant frequency, which is quite large and constrains its application. To realize the antenna miniaturization, many methods, including loading t...
