Abstract:

Critique of Research Book (Literature)/ Which Hafiz? An Overview of Hafiz and Russian Poets: Alireza Anoshirvani
Abstract One of the broad areas of research in traditional comparative literature is the study of the influence of one poet on another in a different culture. Almost all literary influences occur through translation. The translator is a mediator between the two poets, and any study of literary influences in the realm of comparative literature would be irrelevant if the role of the translator a...

The main argument of this monograph,* if I understand it rightly (something its rather cloudy writing makes me uncertain of), is that the body of works often (and traditionally) grouped together under the rubric ‘ancient literary criticism’ should be understood not as contributions to aesthetics or criticism of literature as these terms are commonly understood today but rather as political inte...

We present a high-level enterprise system architecture that closely models the domain ontology of resource and information flows in enterprises. It is: Process-oriented: formal, user-definable specifications for the expected exchange of resources (money, goods, and services), notably contracts, are represented explicitly in the system state to reflect expectations on future events; Event-driven...

This patient underwent breast surgery and a sentinel node biopsy performed shortly before the blood was taken. As part of the biopsy procedure, a dye (Patent Blue) is injected into the lymphatic system. After injection, patients are commonly noted to take on a grey appearance, and urine has a green discolouration . A striking green appearance of the serum has also been reported, but is seen unc...
full textRoman Poets as Literary Historians Some Aspects of Imitatio ^
Literary history — like the history of any art — involves a special difficulty; it is that of reconciling a general scheme of development and a linear movement in time with the problem of the individual genius who creates new things. That has not been made easier in recent years when New Critics tried to expel the writer from the text, and then Deconstructionists called the very existence of th...
full textThe Impermanent Text in Catullus and Other Roman Poets
To us, who have lived our entire lives in a culture saturated with print, it seems obvious that the survival of a verbal artifact for any length of time would be impossible without material texts. To a writer, getting published is the necessary first step toward a potentially limitless Nachleben. The fact that, ceteris paribus, a new book is more likely to be pulped within a few years than to s...
