abstract

abstract the objective of this study was to assess the effects of few arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria on the growth and yield indices of two wheat varieties in a saline soil (ec=10/1 dsm-1). a factorial experiment with completely randomized design with four replications was conducted to investigate the effects of three levels of fungal inoculation (non inoculation , inoculation with glomus etunicatum and with glomus intradices) and four levels of bacterial inoculation (non inoculation, inoculation with p. fluorescens strains 4 , 9, 12) on two wheat varieties (sistan and chamran) as tolerant and semi-tolerant to salinity, respectively. our results showed that the growth and yield indices of two varieties were significantly (p<0/05) different. single inoculation of sistan with glomus etunicatum and p. fluorescens, strains 9, increased fresh and dry weight of shoot. single inoculation of both varieties with glomus etunicatum significantly increased the root dry weight. single inoculation of sistan with glomus etunicatum and p. fluorescens, strains 12, resulted in highest grain number in spike, spike weight, thousand grains weight and final grain yield. co-inoculation of glomus intradices and p. fluorescens, strains 12, of sistan variety significantly increased the chlorophyll content of the flag leaf. field trials, considering same treatments are advised to further support of this study results.

Effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Growth and Nutrient Uptake of Apple Rootstocks in Calcareous Soil

The effects of three Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) species (Glomus versiforme, Claroideoglomus etunicatum and Rhizophagus intraradices) were studied on the growth parameters and nutrient uptake of three apple rootstocks (M.9, M.7 and MM.106). The soil medium contained a high level of calcium carbonate (38.65%). The results showed that AMF inoculation could increase almost all growth parame...

Effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus, plant growth promoting rhizobacterium, and soil drying on different forms of potassium and clay mineral changes in a calcareous soil under maize planting

ABSTRACT- Greenhouse experiment was conducted in factorial experiment arranged as a completely randomized design (CRD) to evaluate the effect of Glomus intraradices, Pseudomonas fluorescence and soil drying on different forms of potassium (K) and the changes of clay minerals in a calcareous soil after maize planting. Treatments consisted of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus at two levels: G0 (...

Effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Soil Conditions on Crop Plant Growth

We investigated the effects on various crops of inoculation with species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in soils from different sources and selected AMF species suitable for domestic environment-friendly farming. Effects on plants varied with the AMF species used. In carrot, Scutellospora heterogama, Acaulospora longula, and Funneliformis mosseae had a positive effect on growth of the ho...

on translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach

abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...

Symbiosis relationship between some arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and Salsola laricina and its effect on improving plant growth parameters

The aim of this study was to examine the symbiosis relationshipbetween some arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and Salsola laricina (Chenopodiaceae), a non-mycotrophic plant speciesand its effect on improving plant growth parameters. Initially, the development of AMF density was monitored through two parameters including evaluation of mycorrhizal colonization of plant roots and density measurem...
