A Modified Method for Cerebrospinal Fluid Collection in Anesthetized Rat and Evaluation of the Efficacy

∗ Corresponding author: Cellular and Molecular Biology Research Center (CMBRC), Babol University of Medical Sciences, Babol, Iran. Email: [email protected] he role of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) as a transport medium for biologically and behaviorally active hormones, drugs, and other such molecules has become increasingly evident over the past decade. It is a good sample for the reflect...

An Improved Method for Collection of Cerebrospinal Fluid from Anesthetized Mice.

The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a valuable body fluid for analysis in neuroscience research. It is one of the fluids in closest contact with the central nervous system and thus, can be used to analyze the diseased state of the brain or spinal cord without directly accessing these tissues. However, in mice it is difficult to obtain from the cisterna magna due to its closeness to blood vessels, ...

Development of an RP-HPLC-UV method for simultaneous detection of nimodipine and its metabolite in cerebrospinal fluid of rat

A rapid, simple and reproducible HPLC method was developed and validated for the analysis of nimodipine (NM) and/or its metabolite, oxidized nimodipine (OX–NM) in rat cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and artificial CSF. The NM and OX–NM were eluted in less than 10 min with no interferences from the endogenous CSF peaks. Analysis was carried out on a Eurospher Performance (RP-C18, 250 × 4.6 mm) column ...
