Instance Matching for Ontology Population
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the context of ontology evolution, ontology population is the activity of acquiring new semantic descriptions of data extracted from heterogeneous data sources. To this end, the capability of comparing several instances extracted from different sources is crucial. In this paper, we focus on the problem of instance matching and its role for ontology population. Moreover, we present the instance matching systems HMatch(I) which has been developed in the framework of the BOEMIE research project.

Centralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems
Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...
متن کاملScalability in Ontology Instance Matching of Large Semantic Knowledge base
The rapid growth of heterogeneous sources of massive ontology instances raises a scalability issue in ontology instance matching of semantic knowledge bases. In this paper, we propose an efficient method of instance matching by considering secondary classification of monotonic large instances to achieve scalability. We use a taxonomy of the ACM’s Computing Classification System (CCS) for second...
متن کاملAn Instance-based Learning Approach for Ontology Matching
This paper proposes an instance-based learning approach for the ontology matching problem. This approach is applicable to scenarios where instances of the ontologies to be matched are exchanged between sources. An initial population of instances is used as a training set of a non-supervised algorithm that constructs mappings between properties of classes from the ontologies. To demonstrate the ...
متن کاملTowards a Benchmark for Instance Matching
In the general field of knowledge interoperability and ontology matching, instance matching is a crucial task for several applications, from identity recognition to data integration. The aim of instance matching is to detect instances referred to the same real-world object despite the differences among their descriptions. Algorithms and techniques for instance matching have been proposed in lit...
متن کاملRiMOM2: A Flexible Ontology Matching Framework
With the development of the Linking Open Data (LOD) project, large amount of semantic datasets have been published on the Web. Due to the open and distributed nature of the Web, the published data may be heterogeneous both in the schema level and instance level. Matching the entities of different datasets is very important for integrating information from different data sources. Recently, much ...
