Compensation of De-saturation Effect in HDR Images Based on Real Scene Adaptation Analysis

چکیده
Chromatic adaptation transform is used to many color appearance models. Also, the iCAM06 model, a highdynamic range (HDR) rendering process contains chromatic adaptation and is based on the CIECAM02 model. The D factor or degree of adaptation in chromatic adaptation of the iCAM06 model is the function of surround luminance or adapting luminance level, but does not consider visual white point shift according to the variation of luminance level. The iCAM06 model acquires a white image from the Gaussian low-passed image. So, each pixel has different white value, and when some of colors cover the whole image, de-saturation effect appears around these colors. In addition, the scale factor used to reduce de-saturation effect causes unsuitable change of adaptation degree. Therefore, we propose the new method to find global illuminant information and degree of adaptation in the HDR image rendering process. By comparing the proposed with the conventional method, we confirm that the proposed method has better performance in illuminant estimation and color representation.

A Novel Method to Increase LinLog CMOS Sensors’ Performance in High Dynamic Range Scenarios
Images from high dynamic range (HDR) scenes must be obtained with minimum loss of information. For this purpose it is necessary to take full advantage of the quantification levels provided by the CCD/CMOS image sensor. LinLog CMOS sensors satisfy the above demand by offering an adjustable response curve that combines linear and logarithmic responses. This paper presents a novel method to quickl...
متن کاملPredicting visible differences in high dynamic range images: model and its calibration
New imaging and rendering systems commonly use physically accurate lighting information in the form of highdynamic range (HDR) images and video. HDR images contain actual colorimetric or physical values, which can span 14 orders of magnitude, instead of 8-bit renderings, found in standard images. The additional precision and quality retained in HDR visual data is necessary to display images on ...
متن کاملAdaptive Dynamic Range Imaging: Optical Control of Pixel Exposures Over Space and Time
This paper presents a new approach to imaging that significantly enhances the dynamic range of a camera. The key idea is to adapt the exposure of each pixel on the image detector, based on the radiance value of the corresponding scene point. This adaptation is done in the optical domain, that is, during image formation. In practice, this is achieved using a spatial light modulator whose transmi...

With the advent of cheap indoor RGB-D sensors, proper representation of piecewise planar depth images is crucial toward an effective compression method. متن کاملColor scene transform between images using Rosenfeld-Kak histogram matching method
In digital color imaging, it is of interest to transform the color scene of an image to the other. Some attempts have been done in this case using, for example, lαβ color space, principal component analysis and recently histogram rescaling method. In this research, a novel method is proposed based on the Resenfeld and Kak histogram matching algorithm. It is suggested that to transform the color...
