چکیده
Hidradenitis suppurativa of the apocrine sweat glands, described in 1839 by Velpeau [I], is a chronic disease characterized by painful recurrent abscesses, draining fistulas, and scarring in the axillae, groin, perineum, perirectal region, and other areas. Herein, we review our 15 year experience in treating advanced hidradenitis suppurativa to delineate the nature of the disease and to outline important principles in its management.
