A Brief Survey of Channel Models for Land Mobile Satellite Communication

The last review of the modeling of the land mobile satellite channel was done by Karaliopoulos and Pavlidou in 1999. Since then a lot of work has been done to model the land mobile satellite channel. In this paper an up-to-date review of the modeling of the land mobile satellite channel is presented. We look at the various physical characteristics that influence communications in the land mobile satellite channel and then look at the different types of models derived for the land mobile satellite channel and review different models for each type of modeling.
