A Systematic Review on Measuring and Evaluating Web Usability in Model Driven Web Development

In the field of software engineering usability defines software system demand and use. HCI is the study of interaction between human and computer and one of the key aspects of the study is usability. Usability is considered to be one of the most important quality factors. To help software engineers set of usability guidelines are defined for software development. A web application or web app is any application software that runs in a web browser and relies on a common web browser to render the application. Usability has been evaluated taking into account the user’s satisfaction by using different evaluation methods. To evaluate usability of web applications, WUEP (Web Usability Evaluation Process) method is proposed. In this paper we present WebML, a notion for specifying complex websites at the conceptual model. To measure the usability different metrics are proposed. Additionally, to perform experts evaluation based on heuristics a Sirius framework is defined.
