چکیده
New expansions are derived for the simulation of three-dimensional anisotropic scatterers with the generalized multipole technique (GMT). This extension of the GMT makes possible the investigation of subtle phenomena such as the interaction of light with realistic crystals or magneto-optic materials.

Extension of the generalized multipole technique to anisotropic medias
Ž . This paper presents an extension of the generalized multipole technique GMT for 2D anisotropic scatterers. New expansions similar to the Bessel multipole expansion are derived for arbitrary anisotropic media. Numerical simulations prove the accuracy and the rapid convergence of these expansions. As the results obtained are extremely accurate, this technique is most helpful for the evaluatio...
متن کامل3D Thermoelastic Interactions in an Anisotropic Lastic Slab Due to Prescribed Surface Temparature
The present paper is devoted to the determination of displacement, stresses and temperature from three dimensional anisotropic half spaces due to presence of heat source. The normal mode analysis technique has been used to the basic equations of motion and generalized heat conduction equation proposed by Green-Naghdi model-II [1]. The resulting equation are written in the form of a vector –matr...
متن کاملA New Guideline for the Allocation of Multipoles in the Multiple Multipole Method for Two Dimensional Scattering from Dielectrics
A new guideline for proper allocation of multipoles in the multiple multipole method (MMP) is proposed. In an ‘a posteriori’ approach, subspace fitting (SSF) is used to find the best location of multipole expansions for the two dimensional dielectric scattering problem. It is shown that the best location of multipole expansions (regarding their global approximating power) coincides with the med...
متن کاملA Numerical Method for the Solution of Time-Harmonic Maxwell Equations for Two-Dimensional Scatterers
The Fourier modal method (FMM) is a method for efficiently solving Maxwell equations with periodic boundary conditions. In a recent paper [1] the extension of the FMM to non-periodic structures has been demonstrated for a simple two-dimensional rectangular scatterer illuminated by TE-polarized light with a wavevector normal to the third (invariant) dimension. In this paper we present a generali...
متن کاملSymmetry group, Hamiltonian equations and conservation laws of general three-dimensional anisotropic non-linear sourceless heat transfer equation
In this paper Lie point symmetries, Hamiltonian equations and conservation laws of general three-dimensional anisotropic non-linear sourceless heat transfer equation are investigated. First of all Lie symmetries are obtained by using the general method based on invariance condition of a system of differential equations under a prolonged vector field. Then the structure of symmetry ...
