چکیده

Active Stark Atomic Spectroscopy (ASAS) method can be used to determine the electric field in the diode of an ion or electron accelerator as a function of position and time, including the positions of anode and cathode plasma emission surfaces (in order to obtain the effective accelerating gap). As possible probe beams, we suggest the use of lithium and sodium atoms. The diagnostic provides a means to measure diode quantities spectroscopically with excellent spatial resolution.

Two-photon spectroscopy of the 6S(1/2) ? 6D(5/2) transition of trapped atomic cesium.

Two-photon spectroscopy of atomic cesium confined and cooled in a magneto-optical trap is reported. The hyperfine structure of the 6D(5/2) state is determined with 1% accuracy. New capabilities for studying ac Stark shifts and kinetic transport for cold atoms are suggested.

High-Resolution Stark Spectroscopy of Ba Highly-Excited States by Diode Laser Technique

High-resolution atomic-beam laser spectroscopy has been performed to study Stark effect of Ba atom. Stark spectra have been observed at various electric fields for Ba highly excited states. The scalar polarizability of the transition from 6s5d3D2 to 5d6p3F3 at 728.0 nm and the tensor polarizability of the 3F3 level have been determined for the first time, to be αs = −89.8 (12) kHz/(kV/cm)2 and ...

Deceleration of supersonic beams using inhomogeneous electric and magnetic fields.

Methods for the production of cold atomic and molecular samples relying on the deceleration of pulsed supersonic beams are described and a review of the corresponding literature is presented. These methods include multistage Stark deceleration, multistage Zeeman deceleration, and Rydberg-Stark deceleration. Recent applications of the cold samples produced with these techniques are summarized.
