چکیده
plete. Following these reports, Yoshida (1917)(16) made a more detailed description of this cercaria which is called •gCercaria F•h by him, obtained in various areas in Japan, and Cort and Nichols (1920)(3) named it Cercaria yoshidae. During the past few years the author have recovered many Semi sulcospira spp, in various areas in Japan, some of which are from the same spots where Yoshida has collected it before. These snails are parasitized with some 18 species of trematode larvae, one of which being a cystophorous cercaria presented here. In the following chapter, its morphology, geographical accounts and seasonal distributions in detail are reported.

The Morphology of Cercariae Obtained from a Snail Host, Semisulcospira Libertina in Japan
Fresh water snails, Semisulcospira libertina, including S reiniana and S. japonica, are known as the first intermediate hosts of pathogenic trematodes, e. g. Paragonimus, Metagonimus, etc. These snails are also infected with many other non-pathogenic cercariae, the majority of which have been described up to now incompletely. Therefore, in the case of epidemiological studies, research workers u...
متن کاملDetection of Ornithobilharzia turkestanikum cercaria (trematoda) by nested-PCR in intermediate host snail, Lymnaea gedrosiana
Trematodes are important in economic and public health. Ornithobilharzia turkestanicum (O. turkestanicum) is one of the important economic trematodes in domestic animals. Ornithobilharzia infection in intermediate host (Lymnaea gedrosiana ) can be detected by either exposing snails to light to induce cercarial shedding or by squeezing them between glass slides to detect parasites. The current...
متن کاملStudies on the brackish water cercariae in Japan. III. Three new echinostome cercariae in Tokyo Bay, with a list of Japanese echinostome cercariae (Trematoda).
The present paper reports three new echinostome cercariae with a review of known 18 spp. of Japanese echinostome cercariae. They were found from the brackish water snails collected from a muddy seashore at Urayasu during the past years from 1944 to 1952. One of these, Cercaria pseudo grani f era n. sp., bearing a strong resemblance to Cercaria grani f era Ogata, 1943, differed from it in detail...
متن کاملFour trematode cercariae from the New Zealand intertidal snail
The cercariae and sporocysts (or rediae) of four trematode species are described from the intertidal snail Zeacumantus subcarinatus: a distome xiphidiocercaria assigned to the genus Renicola (family Renicolidae); a monostome xiphidiocercaria belonging either to the genus Microphallus or Megalophallus (family Microphallidae); a magnacercous cercaria of the genus Galactosomum (family Heterophyida...
متن کاملFascioliasis Control: In Vivo and In Vitro Phytotherapy of Vector Snail to Kill Fasciola Larva
Snail is one of the important components of an aquatic ecosystem, it acts as intermediate host of Fasciola species. Control of snail population below a certain threshold level is one of the important methods in the campaign to reduce the incidence of fascioliasis. Life cycle of the parasite can be interrupted by killing the snail or Fasciola larva redia and cercaria in the snail body. In vivo a...
