چکیده

The π+π− balance function in rapidity is computed in a thermal model with resonances. It is found that the correlations from the neutral-resonance decays are important, yielding about a half of the total contribution, which in general consist of resonance and non-resonance parts. The model results are confronted with the recent data for the Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 130 GeV and a good agreement between the experimental and model widths of the balance function is found.

Phenomenological parameterizations of proton and neutron polarized structure functions , g p 1 and g n 1 , are developed for x ∼ > 0.02 using deep inelastic data up to ∼ 50 (GeV /c) 2 as well as available experimental results on photo-and electro-production of nucleon resonances. The generalized Drell-Hearn-Gerasimov sum rules are predicted from low to high values of Q 2 and compared with proto...

We describe how parton recombination can address the recent measurement of dynam-ical jet-like two particle correlations. In addition we discuss the possible effect realistic light-cone wave-functions including higher Fock-states may have on the well-known elliptic flow valence-quark number scaling law.
