چکیده

Latent class and the Grade of Membership (GoM) models are two examples of latent structure models. Latent class models are discrete mixture models. The GoM model has been originally developed as an extension of latent class models to a continuous mixture. This note describes a constrained latent class model which is equivalent to the GoM model, and provides a detailed proof of this equivalence. Implications for model fitting and interpretation are discussed. Some key words: Class membership, Contingency tables, Latent structure, Mixture models, Stochastic subject.

Developmental Impact of Preventive Interventions 1 Running head: DEVELOPMENTAL IMPACT OF PREVENTIVE INTERVENTIONS The Developmental Impact of Two First Grade Preventive Interventions on Aggressive/Disruptive Behavior in Childhood and Adolescence: An Application of Latent Transition Growth Mixture Modeling

We examine the impact of two universal preventive interventions in first grade on the growth of aggressive/disruptive behavior in grades 1-3 and 6-12 through the application of a latent transition growth mixture model (LT-GMM). Both the classroom-centered and family-centered interventions were designed to reduce the risk for later conduct problems by enhancing the child behavior management prac...

A Mixed-Membership Approach to the Assessment of Political Ideology from Survey Responses

We employ mixed-membership (or grade-of-membership) techniques—of growing popularity in medical diagnostics, psychology, genetics, and machine learning—in order to identify prototypical profiles of survey respondents based on their answers to questions aimed at uncovering their basic orientations or ideological predispositions. In contrast with factor analytic techniques and IRT approaches, we ...

The exploitation of “Grade of Membership (GoM) model” and “Combined Analysis method” in analysing of urban dynamics and urban hierarchy in Khorasan region (1956-2016)

Concerning the importance of urban network studies and the role of hierarchy system in population decentralization in metropolitan areas, this paper by using acknowledged indicators and Grade of Membership (GoM) model and using Combined Analysis method has tried to find the changes in urban hierarchy of Khorasan region during the period 1956-2016. The outcomes show that urban system in Khorasan...
