چکیده
Three thousand four hundred eighty-five BCG scar negative school children were given tuberculin test. Results showed very little non-specific reactions, suggesting BCG should produce high levels of protection in our population.

Delayed reactions to bouillon medium of tuberculin.
In testing persons who are negative to weak dilutions of old tuberculin, it is frequently noted that a disproportionately large reaction may occur with the stronger dilutions. The suspicion has been voiced that these reactions to strong concentrations of old tuberculin may be non-specific. The problem is of special importance in testing children prior to BCG administration. Are those who react ...
متن کاملA Comparison of Two-Step Tuberculin Skin Test between Health-Care Workers and Nonhospital Employees
Background: The tuberculin test is widely used to identify tuberculosis infection. Some individuals infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis may have an initial negative skin test reaction to tuberculin. The two step purified protein derivative skin test can decrease misinterpretation of tuberculin test .This study was aimed at comparing the two- step tuberculin skin test and booster phenomenon...

1. The specific precipitin reaction and the skin reaction given by old tuberculin are attributable to two separate substances present in this material. The cause of the reaction first mentioned is a non-protein gum which will be fully described in the following paper. The cause of the skin reaction is probably but not surely a protein. 2. Methods which have been suggested for the standardizatio...
متن کاملTuberculin sensitivity in tuberculosis.
Seven of twenty-eight (25%) patients with untreated tuberculosis had skin induration of less than 6 mm to one tuberculin unit (TU), and 3 (11%) to 10 TU PPD. Among twenty-four patients with lung disease, there were no detectable differences in radiological extent of disease between reactors and non-reactors to low-dose tuberculin. However, non-reactors were significantly more malnourished (P le...
متن کاملComparison of reactions to human and avian tuberculins in leprosy patients.
A large proportion of tuber culin tests in tropical countries yield weak or doubtful reactions. Since leprosy is common in many of the countries where this phenomenon has been observed, it has been suggested that some of these anomalous r eactions may be due to nonspecific sensitization to mycobacterial antigens common to both the leprosy and the tubercle bacilli, The positive tuberculin hemagg...
