چکیده

An efficient deployment of a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) requires a realistic approach towards the mobility of the hosts who want to communicate with each other over a wireless channel. Since ad-hoc networks are driven by human requirements, instead of considering the random movement of mobile nodes, we concentrate on the social desire of the nodes for getting connected with one another and provide here a framework for the mobility model of the nodes based on Social Network Theory. In this paper, we capture the preferences in choosing destinations of pedestrian mobility pattern on the basis of Social Factor ( F) and try to find out the essential impact of F on the Pause Time of the nodes. Also, instead of considering an unobstructed terrain, we carry out our simulations in presence of obstacles which block the node movement. Thus, we present here a more realistic mobility distribution pattern. Further, a relative comparison of the proposed model with the popular Random Way-Point (RWP) Model

A Fuzzy Realistic Mobility Model for Ad hoc Networks

Realistic mobility models can demonstrate more precise evaluation results because their parameters are closer to the reality. In this paper a realistic Fuzzy Mobility Model has been proposed. This model has rules which are changeable depending on nodes and environmental conditions. It seems that this model is more complete than other mobility models. After simulation, it was found out that not o...

On theWay to a More Realistic Simulation Environment for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

Two main steps on the way to more realistic simulations of mobile adhoc networks are the introduction of realistic mobility and sophisticated radio wave propagation models. Both have strong impact on the performance of mobile ad-hoc networks, e.g. the performance of routing protocols changes with these models. In this paper we introduce a framework which combines realistic mobility and radio wa...

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...

Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

Social Networks Based Ad Hoc Mobility Models

Most current research on mobile ad hoc networks relies on simulations. One of the key points in the design of good simulations is the choice of realistic movement models. Since there is a nearly total absence of realistic data in the public domain, synthetic models for movement pattern generation must be used. However, the most widely used models are currently very simplistic and totally unreal...
