چکیده

A premium principle is an economic decison rule used by the insurer in order to determine the amount of the net premium for each risk in his portfolio. In this paper we investigate the problem of determining the premium principle to be used. First, we discuss some desirable properties of a premium principle. We prove that the only premium principles that possess these properties belong to a class of premium principles introduced by Wang (1996). Similar results can be found in Wang, Young & Panjer (1997).

A note on the stop-loss preserving property of Wang's premium principle

A desirable property for a premium principle is that it preserves stop-loss order. In this paper, we present a simple proof for the stoploss preserving property of Wang’s class of premium principles, in the case that the distribution functions involved have only finitely many crossing points.

Comonotonicity, Correlation Order and Premium Principles

In this paper, we investigate the notion of dependency between risks and its effect on the related stop-loss premiums. The concept of comonotonicity, being an extreme case of dependency, is discussed in detail. For the bivariate case, it is shown that, given the distributions of the individual risks, comonotonicity leads to maximal stop-loss premiums. Some properties of stop-loss order preservi...

Optimal reinsurance minimizing the distortion risk measure under general reinsurance premium principles

Recently the optimal reinsurance strategy concerning the insurer’s risk attitude and the reinsurance premium principle is an interesting topic. This paper discusses the optimal reinsurance problem with the insurer’s risk measured by distortion risk measure and the reinsurance premium calculated by a general principle including expected premium principle and Wang’s premium principle as its speci...

Distortion Risk Measures: Coherence and Stochastic Dominance

In this paper it is proved that a concave distortion function is a necessary and sufficient condition for coherence, and a strictly concave distortion function is a necessary and sufficient condition for strict consistency with second order stochastic dominance. The results are related to current risk measures used in practice, such as value-at-risk (VaR) and the conditional tail expectation (C...

Bayes, E-Bayes and Robust Bayes Premium Estimation and Prediction under the Squared Log Error Loss Function

In risk analysis based on Bayesian framework, premium calculation requires specification of a prior distribution for the risk parameter in the heterogeneous portfolio. When the prior knowledge is vague, the E-Bayesian and robust Bayesian analysis can be used to handle the uncertainty in specifying the prior distribution by considering a class of priors instead of a single prior. In th...
