چکیده

Information systems design concern modeling systems that are dynamic in nature. A dynamic system essentially has two dimensions of concern – static structure and dynamic behavior. The existence of dynamics – or interactions among parts of the system distinguish a dynamic system from a heap or collection of parts. Specification and management of the static aspects of an information system like the data and metadata have been fairly well addressed by existing paradigms. However an understanding of the dynamic nature of information systems is still low. Currently most paradigms model behavioral properties above an existing structural model, resulting in what may be called “entity centric” modeling. Such a kind of modeling would neglect properties that can be attributed to behavioral processes themselves, and relationships that might exist among such processes. In this paper, we address behavioral modeling by first considering system behavior to be in the form of an abstract “interaction space,” that depicts the domain of information system behavior. A new paradigm called “dialogs” is also proposed, which depicts semantic interactive processes existing in the interaction space; and an “interaction schema” as a characterization of the interaction space.

An algebra of fixpoints for characterizing interactive behavior of information systems

The dynamics of an information system (IS) is characterized not only by its computational behavior, but also by its interactive behavior. Interactive dynamics forms an integral part of most information systems. Despite this, an understanding of the interactive nature of an IS is still low. Interaction impacts expressiveness of an IS at such fundamental levels that Wegner [Weg97, WG99a] came wit...

Characterizing imageability in Gajar houses of Tabriz

Aims: From Lufor’s perspective, space is constructed based on spatial operation, recreation and the space in which recreation takes place. This approach is a descriptive view of the relationship between space from a materialistic point of view and its dominant ideas with its dwellers. In this perspective, humans integrate distinct and indistinct data of space and create map-like mental images f...

MAN-MACHINE INTERACTION SYSTEM FOR SUBJECT INDEPENDENT SIGN LANGUAGE RECOGNITION USING FUZZY HIDDEN MARKOV MODEL

Sign language recognition has spawned more and more interest in human–computer interaction society. The major challenge that SLR recognition faces now is developing methods that will scale well with increasing vocabulary size with a limited set of training data for the signer independent application. The automatic SLR based on hidden Markov models (HMMs) is very sensitive to gesture's shape inf...

A New Class of Decentralized Interaction Estimators for Load Frequency Control in Multi-Area Power Systems

Load Frequency Control (LFC) has received considerable attention during last decades. This paper proposes a new method for designing decentralized interaction estimators for interconnected large-scale systems and utilizes it to multi-area power systems. For each local area, a local estimator is designed to estimate the interactions of this area using only the local output measurements. In fact,...
