چکیده

In this paper a new paradigm for distributed event management and replication to support realtime collaboration, where the number of collaborating clients, their locations and interests are dynamic. The approach essentially applies the “pull” knowledge management model to distributed event management by defining semantically enhanced events and using state-based interactions techniques to communicate and replicate these event. The approach underlies a Java based collaboration framework. The architecture of the framework and its experimental evaluation will be presented.

Real Time Distributed Collaboration

Groupware for real time distributed collaboration allows people to work together at the same time, even when some or all participants and their work products are in different physical locations. To do this effectively, groupware and its components must support telepresence—a way of giving participants enough cues about each other to help them orchestrate their interactions—and teledata, a way o...

Real-Time Control Mediation in Agile Distributed Software Development

Agile distributed environments pose particular challenges related to control of quality and collaboration in software development. Moreover, while face-to-face interaction is fundamental in agile development, distributed environments must rely extensively on mediated interactions. On this backdrop, we report from an in-depth case study of an agile distributed software project. Applying Kirsch’s...

An Evaluation of Workspace Awareness in Collaborative, Gesture-based Diagramming Tools

Designing usable real-time, distributed collaboration tools is a complex but important task. Workspace awareness can potentially help in making realtime, distributed collaboration tools more usable through a communication of who is in the shared workspace and what they are doing. We present qualitative evaluations of the workspace awareness features of a gesturebased diagramming tool, Distribut...

A New Index for Quantitative Assessment of ‎Distribution Network Resilience in the Presence of Distributed ‎Generations

Resilience is defined as the system ability to keep an acceptable performance level against a sever disturbance and to return to a stable condition in a suitable time. Occurrence of inconvenient weather conditions and natural disasters, which are growing in number and severity during the last years, has always led to damages and wide outage throughout the distribution network. Therefore the ass...

Internal Report Dependencies Aware Event-Driven Real-Time Analysis for Distributed Fixed-Priority Systems

In this paper we present an approach to calculate the maximum density of events in a distributed hard real-time system having tree-shaped dependencies. Thereby we will present how it is possible to relax the density of events in such a system by including scheduling dependencies. This relaxation has a direct impact of successive tasks and leads to more realistic real-time analysis. In this pape...
