candidates, and the first offers himself to the electors of Marylebone, and the other is likely to be returned for Dublin. The claims of the two are of a very high order, though differing very materially from each other. Dr. Sandwith is a practical man, earnest in speech, energetic in action, anxious for reform in medical institutions, but not desirous of any very sweeping or radical alteration in the present state of things. He would in general politics, of course, support Mr. Gladstone; and his knowledge of medical affairs, and especially of military medical institutions, would render him a useful representative of medicine in the House of Commons. Sir Dominick Corrigan every one knows. He is a man of much ability, and of no inconsiderable gift of language ; a little too dogmatic, perhaps, but, on the whole, anxious to further professional interests, and capable of expressing his opinions fearlessly. He would certainly " occupy the time of the House" very frequently.
