چکیده

We discuss the quasi-adiabatic approximations to the three-body wavefunction in breakup processes, clarifying the assumptions underlying the model. This suggests alternative approximation schemes. Using different theoretical three-body models, calculated differential cross section angular distributions for the Be(p,d) reaction, for which new preliminary data have been reported at 35 MeV, are presented. We show that calculations are sensitive to the inclusion of deuteron breakup and to the breakup model used, particularly if used to deduce absolute spectroscopic information on the 0 and 2 Be core state parentages. There is also considerable sensitivity to the model used in calculations of the relative cross sections to the two states.

Near-barrier Fusion Induced by Stable Weakly Bound and Exotic Halo Light Nuclei

The effect of breakup is investigated for the medium weight 6Li+59Co system in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier. The strong coupling of breakup/transfer channels to fusion is discussed within a comparison of predictions of the Continuum Discretized Coupled-Channels model which is also applied to 6He+59Co a reaction induced by the borromean halo nucleus 6He.

Ifup-th 34/97 Dynamical Effects on the Parallel Momentum Distributions of Neutrons from Halo Breakup

In this paper we study the energy spectra and related parallel momentum distributions of the neutrons from the breakup of Be. Earlier papers on transfer to the continuum reactions have shown that the breakup amplitude reduces to a simple eikonal approximation in the limit of weakly bound projectiles. The aim is to establish a reliable method to obtain information on the structure of the halo fr...

Sensitivity of (d, p) Reactions to High n-p Momenta and the Consequences for Nuclear Spectroscopy Studies.

Theoretical models of low-energy (d, p) single-neutron transfer reactions are a crucial link between experimentation, nuclear structure, and nuclear astrophysical studies. Whereas reaction models that use local optical potentials are insensitive to short-range physics in the deuteron, we show that including the inherent nonlocality of the nucleon-target interactions and realistic deuteron wave ...

Neutrino Magnetic Moment Contribution to the Neutrino-Deuteron Reaction

We study the effect of the neutrino magnetic moment on the neutrino-deuteron breakup reaction, using a method called the standard nuclear physics approach, which has already been well tested for several electroweak processes involving the deuteron.

Measurement of the ' H ( d , n ) pp transverse polarization transfer coefficient at 42 . 8 Mev

The transverse polarization transfer coefficient K~ has been measured for the reaction 'H(d, n)pp at 0 for Ed —42. 8 MeV as a function of breakup neutron energy. For the high-energy neutrons (E„&28 MeV) the average value for E~ is close to 0.6, in conformity with the prediction of a simple stripping or spectator model for polarization transfer in deuteron stripping reactions. Good agreement is ...
