Phenomenology of Jet Physics in the Bfkl Formalism at Nlo

چکیده
We study jet physics in the high energy regime of QCD. Based on the NLO BFKL equation, we construct a vertex for the production of a jet at central rapidity in kT -factorization. A jet algorithm is introduced, and we take special care of the separation of multi-Regge and quasi-multi-Regge kinematics. The connection with the energy scale of the evolution is investigated in detail. The result is discussed for two situations: scattering of highly virtual photons, which requires a symmetric energy scale to separate the impact factors from the gluon Green’s function, and hadron-hadron collisions, where a non-symmetric scale choice is needed. For the second case we are able to define a NLO unintegrated gluon density, valid in the small-x regime, and give the evolution equation for this density as well. In the second part, we examine the angular decorrelation of MuellerNavelet jets. Using an operator formalism in the space of anomalous dimension and conformal spin, we implement the NLO BFKL Green’s function to study the rapidity dependence of angular decorrelations. We incorporate the necessary summation of collinearly enhanced corrections beyond NLO accuracy. We compare our results with data from the Tevatron pp̄-collider and provide predictions for the LHC as well. We also extend our study to the angular decorrelation between a forward jets and the electron in deep inelastic ep scattering. The angular decorrelation has not been measured in DIS so far, but we give theoretical results for this observable which already implement the experimental cuts.

Forward jet production at HERA
We discuss forward jet production data recently published by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations at HERA. We review how several Monte-Carlo models compare to the data. QCD calculations based on the BFKL formalism and on fixed NLO perturbation theory with and without resolved virtual photons are described. ‡ Invited talk at the Ringberg Workshop New Trends in HERA Physics 1999, Ringberg Castle, Teger...

Figure 1: Comparison between the H1 dσ/dx measurement with predictions for BFKL-LL, BFKL-NLL and DGLAP NLO calculations (see text). S4 and LL BFKL cannot be distinguished on that figure. Following the successful BFKL [2] parametrisation of the forward-jet cross-section dσ/dx at Leading Order (LO) at HERA [3, 4], it is possible to perform a similar study using Next-to-leading (NLL) resummed BFKL...

We propose a phenomenological study of the Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) approach applied to the data on the proton structure function F2 measured at HERA in the small-xBj region (xBj < 0.01) and Q 2 in the range 5 to 120 GeV. With a simplified “effective kernel” approximation, we present a comparison between leading-logs (LO) and nextto-leading logs (NLO) BFKL approaches in the saddle-p...

We compute the virtual next-to-leading corrections to the impact factors or oo-shell coeecient functions in the high-energy limit, in the helicity-amplitude formalism. These agree with previous results by Fadin and collaborators, in the conventional dimensional-regularization scheme. When combined with the known real corrections, these results will provide the complete NLO corrections to the im...
متن کاملAzimuthal angle decorrelation of Mueller–Navelet jets at NLO
In this contribution we study azimuthal angle decorrelation in inclusive dijet cross sections taking into account the next–to–leading (NLO) corrections to the BFKL kernel while keeping the jet vertices at leading order. We show how the angular decorrelation for jets with a wide relative separation in rapidity largely decreases when the NLO corrections are included.
