Quaternary alloy semiconductor nanobelts with bandgap spanning the entire visible spectrum.

We used an improved cothermal evaporation route for the first time to achieve quaternary semiconductor nanostructured alloys, using an example of Zn(x)Cd(1-x)S(y)Se(1-y) nanobelts. The PL (bandgap) of these as-grown nanostructured alloys can be continuously tunable across the entire visible spectrum through experimentally controlling their compositions. Such widely controlled alloy nanostructur...

Color-tunable photoluminescence of alloyed CdS(x)Se(1-x) nanobelts.

High-quality CdSxSe1-x nanobelts of variable composition (0 </= x </= 1) were fabricated by a simple one-step thermal evaporation route. Photoluminescence measurements showed that all the CdSxSe1-x nanobelts have a single near-bandedge emission band, and their spectral maximum positions can be tuned from approximately 508 nm (for pure CdS) to approximately 705 nm (for pure CdSe). These kinds of...

Modification of mesoporous silica SBA-15 with different organic molecules to gain chemical sensors: a review

The recognition of the biologically and environmentally important ions is of great interest in the field of chemical sensors in recent years. The fluorescent sensors as a powerful optical analytical technique for the detection of low level of various analytes such as anions and metal cations have been progressively developed due to the simplicity, cost effective, and selectivity for monitoring ...

Organic solid fluorophores regulated by subtle structure modification: color-tunable and aggregation-induced emission.

Organic solid fluorophores with a tunable emission color have been widely applied in multiple areas. However, rational design and efficient crafting of these fluorophores from a simple core skeleton is still a formidable challenge because of the undesirable concentration quenching emission effect. Herein, we present the development of two series of organic solid fluorophores based on a backbone...

Conductive Polythiophene Nanoparticles Deposition on Transparent PET Substrates: Effect of Modification with Hybrid Organic-inorganic Coating (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this work, Poly(ethyleneterephthalate) (PET) substrate was treated using KOH solution and was modified using hybrid O-I coating containing PCL )polycaprolactone( as organic phase and TEOS )tetraethoxysilane( as inorganic phase. The coating was prepared through a sol-gel process and applied on the surface by dip coater. Then, electrically conducting polythiophene (PTh) nanoparticles were depo...
