چکیده

The Bialas-Bzdak model of elastic proton-proton scattering assumes a purely imaginary forward scattering amplitude, which consequently vanishes at the diffractive minima. We extended the model to arbitrarily large real parts in a way that constraints from unitarity are satisfied. The resulting model is able to describe elastic pp scattering not only at the lower ISR energies but also at √ s =7 TeV in a statistically acceptable manner, both in the diffractive cone and in the region of the first diffractive minimum. The total cross-section as well as the differential cross-section of elastic proton-proton scattering is predicted for the future LHC energies of √ s =13, 14, 15 TeV and also to 28 TeV. A non-trivial, significantly nonexponential feature of the differential cross-section of elastic proton-proton scattering is analyzed and the excitation function of the non-exponential behavior is predicted. The excitation function of the shadow profiles is discussed and related to saturation at small impact parameters.

A model in which the soft collisions of the nucleon are described in terms of interactions of its two constituents (a quark and a diquark) is proposed. When adjusted to describe precisely the elastic proton-proton scattering data and supplemented with the idea of wounded constituents, the model accounts rather well for the centrality dependence of particle production in the central rapidity reg...

Higgs and dijet production by double pomeron exchange . The CDF upper limits

We use as a starting point the original, central inclusive Bialas-Landshoff model for Higgs and dijet production by a double pomeron exchange in pp (p¯ p) collisions. Next we propose the simple extension of this model to the exclusive processes. We find the extended model to be consistent with the CDF Run I, II upper limits for double diffractive exclusive dijet production. The predictions for ...

A Precision Measurement of pp Elastic Scattering Cross Sections at Intermediate Energies

We have measured differential cross sections for pp elastic scattering with internal fiber targets in the recirculating beam of the proton synchrotron COSY. Measurements were made continuously during acceleration for projectile kinetic energies between 0.23 and 2.59 GeV in the angular range 30◦ ≤ θc.m. ≤ 90◦ . Details of the apparatus and the data analysis are given and the resulting excitation...

Pp Elastic Scattering at Lhc and Signature of Chiral Phase Transition at Large |t|

A model of pp and ¯ pp elastic scattering developed previously to analyze ISR and SPS Collider data is extended to predict pp elastic differential cross section at LHC at c.m. energy of 14 TeV and momentum transfer range |t| = 0-10 GeV 2. Role of the gauged linear σ-model as an underlying field theory model describing nucleon structure and elastic scattering is discussed. Possibility of finding...

The eikonal profile function J(b) obtained from the Model of the Stochastic Vacuum is parametrized in a form suitable for comparison with experiment. The amplitude and the extended profile function (including imaginary and real parts) are determined directly from the complete pp and p̄p elastic scattering data at high energies. Full and accurate representation of the data is presented, with smoo...
