چکیده

In this paper, we present work from our ongoing project on vision-guided retrieval and insertion of ORUs. Guidance is to be provided through estimated relative poses between an ORU (to be retrievedinserted), a robotic arm and the related worksite. The major challenges of this work include objects with highly reflective or mirror surfaces moving with cluttered background, along with unreliable or unavailable camera calibration. Moving edge detection and model-based feature matching and tracking are proposed to deal with those challenges. The relationship between image and model features is used to estimate projective matrices, which are then used to predict feature locations in later images. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques is illustrated by encouraging results.

Camera Pose Estimation in Unknown Environments using a Sequence of Wide-Baseline Monocular Images

In this paper, a feature-based technique for the camera pose estimation in a sequence of wide-baseline images has been proposed. Camera pose estimation is an important issue in many computer vision and robotics applications, such as, augmented reality and visual SLAM. The proposed method can track captured images taken by hand-held camera in room-sized workspaces with maximum scene depth of 3-4...

An Interactive Vision-Based Tool for Model-Based Scene Calibration of Augmented Reality Environments

Non-trivial Augmented Reality environments consist of a reconfigurable set of objects whose spatial relations need to be calibrated upon setup. Since manual measurement is tedious, timeconsuming, and error-prone if not done carefully, fully or semi-automatic procedures are needed. We have developed a semi-automatic vision-based scene calibration tool which allows a user to perform this task eff...

Object Pose Estimation Using Least Non Coplanar Feature Points

13 Published By: Blue Eyes Intelligence Engineering & Sciences Publication Pvt. Ltd. Abstract— This paper describes the pose estimation of an object using a calibrated camera. The idea is to first calibrate the camera and then implement the algorithm to find the estimated matrices that describes the three dimensional pose of the object. The camera calibration process includes capturing the imag...

Object Recognition and Full Pose Registration in Cluttered Environments

Robust perception is a vital capability for robotic manipulation in unstructured scenes. In this context, full pose estimation of relevant objects in a scene is a critical step towards the introduction of robots into household environments. In this paper, we present an approach for building metric 3D models of objects using local descriptors from several images. Each model is optimized to fit a...
