Using Colors as Tags in Folksonomies to Improve Image Classification∗
نویسندگان
چکیده
Users share their images in a Folksonomy (like Flickr) and add tags (keywords) to these images. For example an image of “Deutsches Eck” can be tagged with the tags Koblenz, Germany, and Deutsches Eck. Tags can be used as useful features for learning a classifier. In addition to tags, we can also exploit low level image features for image classification. In this paper, we show that merging tags with low level image features produces better classification results.

Tags Re-ranking Using Multi-level Features in Automatic Image Annotation
Automatic image annotation is a process in which computer systems automatically assign the textual tags related with visual content to a query image. In most cases, inappropriate tags generated by the users as well as the images without any tags among the challenges available in this field have a negative effect on the query's result. In this paper, a new method is presented for automatic image...

Reducing the number of colors in an image while preserving its quality, is of importance in many applications such as image analysis and compression. It also decreases memory and transmission bandwidth requirements. Moreover, classification of image colors is applicable in image segmentation and object detection and separation, as well as producing pseudo-color images. In this paper, the Kohene...
متن کاملEvaluating tag filtering techniques for web resource classification in folksonomies
Social or collaborative tagging systems emerged as a novel classification scheme on the Web based on the collective knowledge of people. In sites such as Del.icio.us, Technorati or Flickr, users annotate a variety of resources, including Web pages, blogs, pictures, videos or bibliographic references; using freely chosen textual labels or tags. Underlying collaborative tagging systems are ternar...
متن کاملThe Automatic Integration of Folksonomies with Taxonomies Using Non-axiomatic Logic
Cooperative tagging systems such as folksonomies are powerful tools when used to annotate information resources. The inherent power of folksonomies is in their ability to allow casual users to easily contribute ad-hoc, yet meaningful, resource metadata without any specialist training. Folksonomies are becoming a popular ‘Web 2.0’ technology and are becoming more and more prevalent in education ...
متن کاملAmbiguity in Tagging and the Community Effect in Researching Relevant Resources in Folksonomies
In this paper we present an original approach to improve the search of web resources tagged with folksonomies. We argue that the semantics in folksonomies can be extracted from the force of the community effect and the social interactions between the members of a community. Our approach called SSF for Semantic Social Folksonomy tackle the problem of ambiguity between tags by considering user pr...
