Effects of nonuniform cables on the propagation and coupling processes at high frequencies

چکیده
This paper deals with nonuniform transmission lines which are excited at high frequencies. Networks of those lines are formed and they are described by the BLT–equation. The essential ingredients in this equation are the scattering and the propagation supermatrices. For our investigations we derive these quantities from the product integral solution of generalized telegrapher’s equations. The main emphasis is laid on the determination of the effects of nonuniform conduction of cables on signals propagating along them and on radiation losses from nonuniform transmission lines at high frequencies in dependence on their height above ground and on bend angles.

Multi-layer orthotropic finite cylindrical shells with a viscoelastic core in contact with fluids are gaining increasing importance in engineering. Vibrational control of these structures is essential at higher modes. In this study, an extended version of the wave propagation approach using first-order shear deformation theory of shell motion is employed to examine the free vibration of damped ...
متن کاملFree Vibration Analysis of Nonuniform Microbeams Based on Modified Couple Stress Theory: an Analytical Solution
In this study, analytical solution is presented to calculate the free vibration frequencies of nonuniform microbeams. Scale effects are modelled using modified couple stress theory and the microbeam is assumed to be thin while Poisson's ratio effects are also taken into account. Nonuniformity is presented by exponentially varying width among the microbeam while the thickness remains constant. R...
متن کاملThin-film magneto-inductive cables
Magneto-inductive cables for low (ca 100 MHz) radio frequencies are demonstrated in thin-film form. 20 cm long resonant elements are formed using double-sided patterning of copper-clad polyimide, based on single-turn inductors and parallel-plate capacitors that use the substrate as an interlayer dielectric. Continuous cables are formed by overlaying elements, in an arrangement that allows a hig...

In this article, small scale effects on free vibration analysis of non-uniform nanobeams is discussed. Small scale effects are modelled after Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory while the non-uniformity is presented by exponentially varying width among the beams length with constant thickness. Analytical solution is achieved for free vibration with different boundary conditions. It is shown th...
