PD09 - Association of the TNFα -308 G>A polymorphism with clinical phenotypes of asthma in Moldovan children

چکیده
Background Patients with asthma show a marked phenotypic variability, suggesting etiological heterogeneity and strong environmental influences. Bronchial asthma is determined by a complex interaction between genetic and environmental factors, but these mechanisms are not yet elucidated. The aim of the study was to evaluate peculiarities of the TNFa gene polymorphism (-308 G>A) incidence and its association with different clinical evolution of bronchial asthma in Moldovan children.

Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha -308 G/A Single Nucleotide Polymorphism and Risk of Sperm Abnormalities in Iranian Males
Objective Signaling molecules such as cytokines regulate spermatogenesis during the maturation of germ cells and apoptosis. Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) is one of the most-documented cytokines that supports spermatogenesis. We investigated the association of TNFα -308 Single Nucleotide Polymorphism with sperm abnormalities in Iranian population. MaterialsAndMethods This case control study in...
متن کاملCan Certain Genotypes Predispose to Poor Asthma Control in Children? A Pharmacogenetic Study of 9 Candidate Genes in Children with Difficult Asthma
OBJECTIVE We tested the hypothesis that patients with difficult asthma have an increased frequency of certain genotypes that predispose them to asthma exacerbations and poor asthma control. METHODS A total of 180 Caucasian children with confirmed asthma diagnosis were selected from two phenotypic groups; difficult (n = 112) versus mild/moderate asthma (n = 68) groups. All patients were screen...
متن کاملHuman platelet antigen polymorphism in bronchial asthma
Background: Asthma is recognized as a common cause of disability, of great economic cost, and of preventable deaths. In this study we aimed to test our hypothesis to evaluate the relationship between the Human Platelet Antigen-1(HPA-1) polymorphism and bronchial asthma and its severity, which would suggest genetic variances that may be responsible for expression or activation of these receptors...
متن کاملA review on the relation between obesity and vitamin D with pediatric asthma, and a report of a pilot study in Tehran, Iran: review article
Asthma is an inflammatory and chronic disease that affects about 300 million people globally. The disease is more common in developed countries. The increase in the prevalence of asthma is not only due to genetic factors, but also to many environmental factors related to urbanization and type of nutrition. It has been reported that obesity is an independent risk factor for asthma and obese chil...
متن کاملAssociation between Tumor Necrosis Factor- α-308 G/A Polymorphism and Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex polygenic disease in which gene-environment interactions are important. A number of studies have investigated the association between tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) -308 G/A polymorphism (substitution G→A, designated as TNF1 and TNF2) and MS susceptibility in different populations, but the results of individual studies have been inconsistent. Therefore, per...
