چکیده

The Kinect sensor gives computer eyes. It can capture 3D coordinates of human body joints. This provides a convenient way to track human body movement. This paper proposes an on-line physical training system using 3D sensors (Kinect) so that the exercise instructor and the athletes who are not in the same location can collaborate and fulfil training tasks remotely. The system captures the motions of the instructor and the athletes via Kinect Skeleton Tracking. Pre-created 3D avatars are used to simulate the motions of the instructor and the athletes. The motion differences between the instructor and the athletes are generated by analyzing and comparing the motion data from the both sides. Finally visual feedback is provided to the instructor and the athletes. This poster presents initial design of the system.

Laser Based Real-Time Measurement of Thorax 3D Deformation with Motion Compensation

We present a novel method for full-area, 3D visual breathing assistance with body motion compensation. The method is based on Kinect structured light triangulation sensor and uses local features detection algorithm to correct the undesired body motion during breathing training. The measuring system is contactless and operates in real-time with 30 frames per second. The feature detection algorit...

Kinect Sensor based Object Feature Estimation in Depth Images

Kinect is a motion-sensing device which was originally developed for the Xbox 360 gaming console. This recently developed low-cost sensor detects the body position, motion, and voice; it consists of a microphone, a RGB camera, and a depth sensor. Kinect is PC-centric sensor which allows developers to develop real-life applications with human gestures and body motions. This paper presents an app...

Remote Health Coaching System and Human Motion Data Analysis for Physical Therapy with Microsoft Kinect

This paper summarizes the recent progress we have made for the computer vision technologies in physical therapy with the accessible and affordable devices. We first introduce the remote health coaching system we build with Microsoft Kinect. Since the motion data captured by Kinect is noisy, we investigate the data accuracy of Kinect with respect to the high accuracy motion capture system. We al...

Training Classifiers with Shadow Features for Sensor-Based Human Activity Recognition

In this paper, a novel training/testing process for building/using a classification model based on human activity recognition (HAR) is proposed. Traditionally, HAR has been accomplished by a classifier that learns the activities of a person by training with skeletal data obtained from a motion sensor, such as Microsoft Kinect. These skeletal data are the spatial coordinates (x, y, z) of differe...

Use of the Microsoft Kinect system to characterize balance ability during balance training

The risk of falling increases significantly in the elderly because of deterioration of the neural musculature regulatory mechanisms. Several studies have investigated methods of preventing falling using real-time systems to evaluate balance; however, it is difficult to monitor the results of such characterizations in real time. Herein, we describe the use of Microsoft's Kinect depth sensor syst...
