Capacity Estimation for Sir-based Power Controlled Cdma System with Mixed Cell Sizes
نویسنده
چکیده
In heavily populated areas, cell splitting used to increase the capacity of the cellular system. Cell splitting produces a cellular system with mixed cell sizes. Many previous studies assumed strength-based power control, which maintains received power at a desired level regardless of changes in the number of active users and in the amount of total other cells interference. However, with signal-tointerference ratio (SIR)-based power control systems, that maintain the received SIR at a desired level, the power level is a function of the above two variables. This study calculates the reverse link capacity of SIR-based power control system with mixed cell sizes.

Capacity estimation for a multicode CDMA system with SIR-based power control
Capacity estimation in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems is an important issue which is closely related to power control. Strength-based power control has been assumed in most analyses in which other cell interference was considered as a known and fixed variable. However, in signal-to-interference ratio (SIR)-based power-control systems, power control and other cell interference are ...

متن کاملCapacity Estimation for Overlaid Multiband CDMA Systems with SIR-Based Power Control
As a flexible way to accommodate a variety of services, a number of spreading bands are now considered in International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) systems and more than two (overlaid) bands can be operated simultaneously in CDMA systems. Capacity estimation in CDMA systems is an important issue in performance analysis and call admission control (CAC), which is closely related to ...
متن کاملCapacity analysis of SIR-based power-controlled CDMA systems under multipath fading
This paper analyses the reverse link capacity of a SIR-based power-controlled code-division multiple access (CDMA) system in a multiple-cell environment where the radio channel is affected by multipath Rayleigh fading. Unlike most previous works related to SIR-based power control, the effect of multipath fading is explicitly accounted for and mobiles are assumed to connect to the base station w...
متن کاملCDMA systems in fading channels: Admissibility, network capacity, and power control
We study the admissibility and network capacity of imperfect power-controlled Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems with linear receivers in fading environments. In a CDMA system, a set of users is admissible if their simultaneous transmission does not result in violation of any of their Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements; the network capacity is the maximum number of admissible users...
