Bands of Hi up to 4~: Rovibrational Transitions from First Principles Calculations

Band origins and Einstein A coefficients are presented for transitions linking all the vibrational levels of H : up to 4v2( I = 4). The importance of these data for astrophysical modeling is discussed. For Hi, rovibrational wavefunctions and energy levels are obtained for J up to 16. These are used to synthesize sample rovibrational spectra with particular emphasis on the Y, + 2uz( I= 2) -+ 0 and 4v,( I= 2) + 0 bands, which would appear to be good candidates for laboratory observation.
