Exchangeable random variables

چکیده
If Equation (1) be satisfied, then all sets S are equally likely under the null hypothesis. To obtain a permutation test that is both unbiased and most powerful, one need only select the set S so that its probability under the alternative >0 is a maximum. This is accomplished in most cases by rejecting the hypothesis for all values of the test statistic that lie in the upper tail of the permutation distribution. As research during the intervening half century has amply demonstrated, permutation tests should be used to do all of the following:

Strong Law of Large Numbers for Weighted Sum of Exchangeable Random Variables
Special funds project of scientific research in Ankang University, No. AYQDZR200905 Abstract In this paper, the Marcinkiewicz type theorem is extended to the case of exchangeable random variables. As a generalization, we also obtain two strong laws of large numbers on the weighted sum of exchangeable random variables
متن کاملThe Distribution of Partially Exchangeable Random Variables
In this article, we derive the distribution of partially exchangeable binary random variables, generalizing the distribution of exchangeable binary random variables and hence the binomial distribution. The distribution can also be viewed as a mixture of Markov chains. We introduce rectangular complete monotonicity and show that partial exchangebility can be characterized by rectangular complete...
متن کاملA generalization of the Lindeberg principle
We present a generalization of Lindeberg’s method of proving the central limit theorem to encompass general smooth functions (instead of just sums) and dependent random variables. The technique is then used to obtain an invariance result for smooth functions of exchangeable random variables. As an illustrative application of this theorem, we then establish “convergence to Wigner’s law” for eige...
متن کاملRepresentation theorems for partially exchangeable random variables
We provide representation theorems for both finite and countable sequences of finite-valued random variables that are considered to be partially exchangeable. In their most general form, our results are presented in terms of sets of desirable gambles, a very general framework for modelling uncertainty. Its key advantages are that it allows for imprecision, is more expressive than almost every o...
متن کاملPoset Limits and Exchangeable Random Posets
We develop a theory of limits of finite posets in close analogy to the recent theory of graph limits. In particular, we study representations of the limits by functions of two variables on a probability space, and connections to exchangeable random infinite posets.
متن کاملExchangeable lower previsions
This paper deals with belief models for both finite and countable sequences of exchangeable random variables taking a finite number of values. When such sequences of random variables are assumed to be exchangeable, this more-or-less means that the specific order in which they are observed is deemed irrelevant. The first detailed study of exchangeability was made by de Finetti [5] (with the term...
