چکیده

The e8'ect of including mass-asymmetry dependent 6ssion delay times into the statistical model has been investigated. The shape of the predicted charge distribution of fission fragments is found to be very sensitive to the magnitude and mass-asymmetry dependence of these delay times. Measured mass-asymmetry dependent prefission neutron multiplicities were fit with calculated presaddle values by varying the 6ssion delay times. The resultant predictions for the charge distributions are found to have shapes inconsistent with those measured for similar mass systems, indicating that measured prefission multiplicities cannot be accounted for by presaddle emission alone. Limitations to the magnitude of the presaddle component are discussed.

Hidden systematics of fission channels

It is a common procedure to describe the fission-fragment mass distributions of fissioning systems in the actinide region by a sum of at least 5 Gaussian curves, one for the symmetric component and a few additional ones, together with their complementary parts, for the asymmetric components. These components have been attributed to the influence of fragment shells, e.g. in the statistical sciss...

Charge Distributions According to the Cluster Model of Nuclear Fission

The cluster model of nuclear fission makes definite predictions about the charge distributions. The assumptions made in the computation of mass distributions have to be supplemented by the postulate of statistical sharing of the surplus protons and neutrons between light and heavy cluster. Given the mass distributions, the charge distributions are completely determined by statistical considerat...

Effects of Neutron Emission on Fragment Mass and Kinetic Energy Distribution from Thermal Neutron-Induced Fission of 235U

The mass and kinetic energy distribution of nuclear fragments from thermal neutroninduced fission of U(nth, f ) have been studied using a Monte-Carlo simulation. Besides reproducing the pronounced broadening in the standard deviation of the kinetic energy at the final fragment mass number around m = 109, our simulation also produces a second broadening around m = 125. These results are in good ...

بررسی توزیع زاویه‌ای پاره‌های شکافت در شکافت القایی با یون سنگین

We have calculated the fission fragment angular anisotropy for 16O + 232Th,12C + 236U , 11B + 237 Np , 14 N + 232 Th , 11B + 235U , 12C + 232Th systems with the saddle point statistical model and compared the fission fragment angular anisotropy for these systems. This comparison was done with two methods a) without neutron correction and b) with neutron correction. Also we studied normal and ...

Isotopic Resolution of Fission Fragments from 238U+12C Transfer and Fusion Reactions

Recent results from an experiment at GANIL, performed to investigate the main properties of fission-fragment yields and energy distributions in different fissioning nuclei as a function of the excitation energy, in a neutron-rich region of actinides, are presented. Transfer reactions in inverse kinematics between a 238U beam and a 12C target produced different actinides, within a range of excit...
