چکیده

Raman spectroscopy is a facile method that can be used to analyze a wide variety of samples, such as materials pertaining to life sciences and healthcare, like pharmaceuticals and biological materials, to high technology nanomaterials such as graphene and carbon nanotubes. Many analytical challenges exist when analyzing the aforementioned samples, such as a requirement for high spatial resolution, difficult and time-consuming sample preparation, as well as the need for rapid answers. Raman spectroscopy, and specifically Raman spectroscopic imaging, offers high resolution, on the order of 1 μm or better, minimal sample preparation is required to obtain a Raman spectrum, and Raman spectroscopy can differentiate between compounds on a molecular level that would be indistinguishable on an atomic level. The research presented herein utilizes the Thermo ScientificTM DXRTMxi Raman imaging microscope to analyze these types of pharmaceutical sample, biological materials, and more.

Noninvasive Stem Cell Labeling Using USPIO Technique and their Detection with MRI

Background: To date, several imaging techniques to track stem cells are used such as positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), Bioluminescence imaging (BLI), fluorescence imaging, CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Although, overall sensitivity of MRI compared to SPECT and Bioluminescence techniques are lower, but due to high spatial reso...

Differential impact of multi-focus fan beam collimation with L-mode and conventional systems on the accuracy of myocardial perfusion imaging: Quantitative evaluation using phantoms

Objective(s): A novel IQ-SPECTTM method has become widely used in clinical studies. The present study compares the quality of myocardial perfusion images (MPI) acquired using the IQ-SPECTTM (IQ-mode),conventional (180° apart: C-mode) and L-mode (90° apart: L-mode) systems. We assessed spatial resolution, image reproducibility and quantifiability using various physical phantoms. Materials and Me...

Synthesis, Radiolabeling, and Biological Evaluation of Peptide LIKKPF Functionalized with HYNIC as Apoptosis Imaging Agent

Introduction: A noninvasive method of detecting exposure of phosphatidylserine (PS) on the external surface of the plasma membrane such as nuclear imaging could assist the diagnosis and therapy of apoptosis related pathologies. The most studied imaging agent for apoptosis is Annexin V so far. Because of limitations of Annexin V other agents have been introduced such as small peptides and molecu...
