The sentence intelligibility in different types of noise regarding people with a normal hearing ability.

چکیده
The capability of speech understanding can be tested in the form of sentences. This report describes the origin of a new test in the Czech language to evaluate the sentence intelligibility with the presence of the competitive disturb noise. The results of the test depend on the test project, sentence material, competitive signal, test evaluation, and hearing conditions. Pilot results were obtained from 3 different noises (Speech noise, Babble noise, Cocktail party noise) at 16 people with a normal hearing ability. The Speech noise, which is recommended by a technical standard, mask sentences very poorly. On the other hand, the Babble noise and the Cocktail party noise, which are used to mask sentences in different languages, mask at lower intensities.

Speech Intelligibility of Cochlear-Implanted and Normal-Hearing Children
Introduction: Speech intelligibility, the ability to be understood verbally by listeners, is the gold standard for assessing the effectiveness of cochlear implantation. Thus, the goal of this study was to compare the speech intelligibility between normal-hearing and cochlear-implanted children using the Persian intelligibility test. Materials and Methods: Twenty-six cochlear-implanted childre...
متن کاملEffect of Vowel Auditory Training on the Speech-In-Noise Perception among Older Adults with Normal Hearing
Introduction: Aging reduces the ability to understand speech in noise. Hearing rehabilitation is one of the ways to help older people communicate effectively. This study aimed to investigate the effect of vowel auditory training on the improvement of speech-in-noise (SIN) perception among elderly listeners. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on 36 elderly ...
متن کاملComparison of Speech Intelligibility by EAS, Bimodal, Uni- and Bilateral Cochlear Implant Patients in a ÂMulti-Source Noise Field (MSNF)
Speech perception in noise is one of the most difficult tasks for people suffering from hearing impairment. The Oldenburg Sentence Test (OLSA) is a useful tool to investigate speech intelligibility threshold in a noise environment. In the present study, a multi-source noise field (MSNF), introduced by Rader et al. (DAGA2008), consisting of a four-loudspeaker array with independent noise sources...
