Donor Age in Liver Transplantation: Donation after Circulatory Death.

چکیده
protocol and continues at this stage. Finally, weeks 7 to 8 constitute complete mobilization of the upper extremity, with the goal of reaching full tension without pain or a feeling of stretching. Remaining limitations in soft tissue and joint mobility should be addressed. Therapeutic exercises include continued prolonged holds of postural muscles and plank exercises maintaining scapular neutral position with resistance when possible. Postural training in this stage involves full squats and mimicking work-related activities while maintaining neutral scapular posture. Regarding your second question, we do not regularly perform nerve conduction studies or MRI scans of brachial plexus for patients with NTOS. We prefer upper extremity venous and arteries duplex scans for these patients to assess for vascular compression in addition to neurogenic symptoms.

The Implications of the Shift Toward Donation After Circulatory Death in Australia
Background In recent years, an increasing number of donor livers are being declined for transplantation in Australia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of donation after cardiac death and other factors associated with organ quality on liver utilization rates in Australia. Methods Data on organ donors who donated at least 1 organ between 2005 and 2014 were obtained from the Aust...
متن کاملLong-term results after transplantation of pediatric liver grafts from donation after circulatory death donors
BACKGROUND Liver grafts from donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors are increasingly accepted as an extension of the organ pool for transplantation. There is little data on the outcome of liver transplantation with DCD grafts from a pediatric donor. The objective of this study was to assess the outcome of liver transplantation with pediatric DCD grafts and to compare this with the outcom...
متن کاملDonation after circulatory death: current status.
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Donor shortage has forced transplant teams to explore new methods to increase the potential donor pool. Donation after circulatory death (DCD) has opened new perspectives and could be a valuable option to expand the brain-dead donors. The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of current practice and to identify remaining questions related to ethical and medical issu...
متن کاملLiver transplant using donors after cardiac death: a single-center approach providing outcomes comparable to donation after brain death.
OBJECTIVES Organ donation after cardiac death remains an available resource to meet the demand for transplant. However, concern persists that outcomes associated with donation after cardiac death liver allografts are not equivalent to those obtained with organ donation after brain death. The aim of this matched case control study was to determine if outcomes of liver transplants with donation a...
متن کاملChallenges in machine perfusion preservation for liver grafts from donation after circulatory death
Donation after circulatory death (DCD) is a promising solution to the critical shortage of donor graft tissue. Maintaining organ viability after donation until transplantation is essential for optimal graft function and survival. To date, static cold storage is the most widely used form of preservation in clinical practice. However, ischemic damage present in DCD grafts jeopardizes organ viabil...
متن کاملChallenges of Organ Shortage for Transplantation: Solutions and Opportunities
Organ shortage is the greatest challenge facing the field of organ transplantation today. A variety of approaches have been implemented to expand the organ donor pool including live donation, a national effort to expand deceased donor donation, split organ donation, paired donor exchange, national sharing models and greater utilization of expanded criteria donors. Increased public awareness, im...
