Diode-pumped mode-locked femtosecond 2-μm Tm:CaYAlO4 laser

چکیده

Continuous-wave mode-locked femtosecond 2-m solid-state laser with a c-cut Tm:CaYAlO4 (6 at.%) as gain medium was experimentally demonstrated. The mode locked laser generated stable pulses with average output power as high as 531 mW, pulse duration of 496 fs, and repetition rate of 97 MHz at 1975 nm. The research results show that Tm:CaYAlO4 is an excellent gain medium for femtosecond pulse generation at 2 m wavelength. Self-starting self-mode-locked femtosecond diode-pumped Cr:LiSAF laser.

We describe a diode-pumped Kerr-lens mode-locked Cr(3+):LiSrAlF(6) laser that produces 50 mW of 70-fs pulses in the 820-890-nm range when pumped by two red diodes of 400 mW each. By using a lower-transmission output coupler we have demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge a self-starting regime with an output power of 10 mW and 55-fs pulses.
