Stereotactic surgery boosts accuracy when treating "hidden" brain tumors.

چکیده
Accuracy When Treating "Hidden" Brain Tumors said. Breast cancer is a category describing several different kinds of tumors, and cancer may have many etiologies so there may be more than one virus at work, or none at all. "If there is a human breast cancer virus," said Levine, "it's obviously not all over the place. That's why we're concentrating on certain populations." Although Levine believes such a virus could be transmitted through milk, Sarkar said several factors argue against this idea. One is that breast cancer rates have increased while breast-feeding has declined. Another is the poor correlation between MMTV-like particles in breast milk and family history of breast cancer.

Background and Aim: Numerous efforts over the past century have been performed. Various innovation techniques are increasingly gaining attention and gradually established the foundation of recent significant developments in the world of neurosurgery, among which varied stereotactic neuro-navigation designs and other novel emerging systems are being quotidian developed. This narrative review ai...
متن کاملCharacteristics and Treatments of Large Cystic Brain Metastasis: Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Aspiration
Brain metastasis represents one of the most common causes of intracranial tumors in adults, and the incidence of brain metastasis continues to rise due to the increasing survival of cancer patients. Yet, the development of cystic brain metastasis remains a relatively rare occurrence. In this review, we describe the characteristics of cystic brain metastasis and evaluate the combined use of ster...

adequate therapy (34). Stereotactic surgery started with the Horsley-Clarke apparatus in 1908 (14). After the introduction of stereotactic surgery in human patients by Spiegel and Wycis in 1947, this approach has been used safely and effectively to obtain tissue diagnosis for intracranial lesions. There are many papers establishing the issues related to the safety, accuracy and diagnostic yield...
متن کاملImage-Guided Brain Tumor Resection
Surgical treatment of primary brain tumors remains a considerable challenge for the neurosurgeon. Nonetheless, surgery is the mainstay of glioma therapy because it provides the means of obtaining absolute tissue diagnosis, mapping tumor margins, mechanical cytoreduction, and guidance of adjuvant therapy such as brachytherapy, gene therapy, or radiosurgery. Recent developments in computation tec...
متن کاملFractionated Radiosurgery Alone for Thirty-seven Brain Metastases: Not Everything that can be Counted Counts
There is an ongoing debate as to the maximum number of brain metastases that can safely and practically be treated with a single course of radiosurgery. Despite evidence of durable local control and favorable overall survival when treating 10 or more brain metastases with radiosurgery alone, some institutions and guidelines still limit radiosurgery to an arbitrary number of metastases. As demon...
