Additive Consistency of Fuzzy Preference Relations: Characterization and Construction

چکیده
As it is known, most decision processes are based on preference relations, in the sense that processes are linked to some degree of preference of any alternative over another. The use of preference relations is usual in decision making [1, 5, 10, 14]. Therefore, to establish properties to be verified by such preference relations is very important for designing good decision making models. One of these properties is the so called consistency property. The lack of consistency in decision making can lead to inconsistent conclusions; that is why it is important, if not crucial, to study conditions under which consistency is satisfied [5, 10]. On the other hand, perfect consistency is difficult to obtain in practice, specially when measuring preferences on a set with a large number of alternatives. Clearly, the problem of consistency itself includes two problems [3, 7]:

Some issues on consistency of fuzzy preference relations
In decision making, in order to avoid misleading solutions, the study of consistency when the decision makers express their opinions by means of preference relations becomes a very important aspect in order to avoid misleading solutions. In decision making problems based on fuzzy preference relations the study of consistency is associated with the study of the transitivity property. In this pap...
متن کاملReciprocity and Consistency of Fuzzy Preference Relations
Preference relations are the most common representation structures of information used in decision making problems because they are useful tool in modelling decision processes, above all when we want to aggregate experts’ preferences into group preferences. Therefore, to establish rationality properties to be verified by preference relations is very important in the design of good decision maki...
متن کاملAn IOWA Operator Based on Additive Consistency for Group Decision Making
In group decision-making, experts’ preferences are usually expressed by means of fuzzy preference relations. Because not all experts may be capable of maintaining consistency between all the possible pair of feasible options of the problem, it is worthwhile evaluating the degree of inconsistency of a fuzzy preference relation so that more importance can be given to the more consistent experts. ...
متن کاملConsistency test and weight generation for additive interval fuzzy preference relations
Some simple yet pragmatic methods of consistency test are developed to check whether an interval fuzzy preference relation is consistent. Based on the definition of additive consistent fuzzy preference relations proposed by Tanino [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 12 (1984) 117131], a study is carried out to examine the correspondence between the element and weight vector of a fuzzy preference relation. ...
متن کاملIncomplete interval fuzzy preference relations and their applications
This paper investigates incomplete interval fuzzy preference relations. An additive consistency property of fuzzy preference relations proposed by Herrera-Viedma et al. (2004) is first extended to a more general case. This property is then generalized to interval fuzzy preference relations (IFPRs) based on additive transitivity. Subsequently, we examine how to characterize additive consistent I...
