چکیده
Note: 6 exons, spread out over approximately 2.4 kb Description The Rac3 gene encompasses 6 exons on chromosome 17. Exon 1 encodes residues 1-12, exon 2 residues 1336, exon 3 residues 37-75, exon 4 residues 76-96, exon 5 residues 97-149 and exon 6 residues 150-192. Transcription Human Rac3 mRNA is a single species of around 1 kb. No splice variants have been reported. Factors that would regulate gene expression on a transcriptional level have not yet been reported. Pseudogene No pseudogenes of Rac3 are reported in human.

The Rac2 gene sequence contains 7 exons (Courjal et al., 1997) and is expressed specifically in hematopoietic cells. Human Rac2 gene locus is silenced in non-hematopoietic cells by a mechanism that involves DNA methylation (Ladd et al., 2004). Cells that lack Rac2 expression exhibit increased cytosine methylation in the sequences flanking the gene, whereas cells that express Rac2 exhibit increa...

Adenovirus (Ad) endocytosis via alphav integrins requires activation of the lipid kinase phosphatidylinositol-3-OH kinase (PI3K). Previous studies have linked PI3K activity to both the Ras and Rho signaling cascades, each of which has the capacity to alter the host cell actin cytoskeleton. Ad interaction with cells also stimulates reorganization of cortical actin filaments and the formation of ...
متن کاملSignalling by Rho family proteins.
Introduction The Rho family is part of the Ras superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins, and consists of Rho (A, B and C), Rac (1 and 2), two Cdc42 isoforms, RhoD, RhoE, RhoG, TClO and TTF [l]. Different members of the large Ras superfamily regulate a diverse array of cellular processes, from vesicle trafficking to signal transduction. They all have in common the ability to bind and hydrolyse ...
متن کاملGDP dissociation inhibitor prevents intrinsic and GTPase activating protein-stimulated GTP hydrolysis by the Rac GTP-binding protein.
The majority of the GTP-binding proteins of the Ras superfamily hydrolyze GTP to GDP very slowly. A notable exception to this are the Rac proteins, which have intrinsic GTPase rates at least 50-fold those of Ras or Rho. A protein (or proteins) capable of inhibiting this GTPase activity exists in human neutrophil cytosol. Since Rac appears to exist normally in neutrophils as a cytosolic protein ...
متن کاملRole of small GTP binding proteins in the growth-promoting and antiapoptotic actions of gastrin.
G17 has growth promoting and antiapoptotic effects on the AR4-2J pancreatic acinar cell line. We previously reported that whereas MAPK regulates G17-stimulation of AR4-2J cell proliferation, Akt mediates the antiapoptotic action of G17. We examined the signal-transduction pathways mediating G17 stimulation of AR4-2J cell growth and survival. G17 activated the small GTP binding proteins Ras, Rac...
