A Linked Data Platform adapter for the Bugzilla issue tracker

چکیده
The W3C Linked Data Platform (LDP) specification defines a standard HTTP-based protocol for read/write Linked Data and provides the basis for application integration using Linked Data. This paper presents an LDP adapter for the Bugzilla issue tracker and demonstrates how to use the LDP protocol to expose a traditional application as a read/write Linked Data application. This approach provides a flexible LDP adoption strategy with minimal changes to existing applications.

Something of a Potemkin Village? Acid2 and Mozilla's Efforts to Comply with HTML4
The real point here is that the Acid3 test isn't a broad-spectrum standards-support test. It's a showpiece, and something of a Potemkin village at that. Which is a shame, because what's really needed right now is exhaustive test suites for specifications— XHTML, CSS, DOM, SVG.[2] Acid3 is the third of three benchmark tests that have been devised to challenge browsers to comply with Internet sta...
متن کاملThe Impact of Formal QA Practices on FLOSS Communities - The Case of Mozilla
The number of FLOSS projects that include a QA step in the development model is increasing which suggests that a new layer may be emerging in the classic “onion model”. This change might affect the information flow within projects and implicitly their sustainability. Communities, the essential resource of FLOSS projects, have been extensively studied but questions concerning QA remain. This pap...
متن کاملHow Software Repositories can Help in Resolving a New Change Request
In open source development, software evolution tasks are usually managed with a bug tracker system, such as Bugzilla [1], and a versioning system, such as CVS [2]. This provides for a huge amount of historical data regarding bug resolutions and new enhancement feature implementations. We discuss how software repositories can help developers in managing a new change request, either a bug or an e...
متن کاملThe Role of Emotions in Contributors Activity: A Case Study of the Gentoo Community
We analyze the relation between the emotions and the activity of contributors in the Open Source Software project Gentoo. Our case study builds on extensive data sets from the project’s bug tracking platform bugzilla, to quantify the activity of contributors, and its mail archives, to quantify the emotions of contributors by means of sentiment analysis. The Gentoo project is known for a period ...

Issue tracking tools such as Jira or Bugzilla have become important for software development, especially with distributed development teams becoming the norm in several organizations. It is interesting to see that some open source software come with their own issue tracking systems, such as Eclipse bugzilla (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/). However, these tools are centralized and are project s...
