TO THE EDITOR OF THE " INDIAN MEDICAL GAZETTE." Sie,?At page 68, volume 1, of Reynolds' System of Medicine (1866), Dr. Maclean remarks that lie has never known the ointment of the biniodide of mercury, when applied over the liver or spleen, to produce "any unpleasant constiiutional action." I have never found reason to doubt tlifs opinion until a few days since when a man was admitted for enlarged spleen, for which the biniodide of mercury ointment was, as usual, ordered.
