چکیده

Fig 3. An example of a coregistered ADC map and [F]FLT image from the center slice of a tumor (T), which both demonstrate distinct regions of heterogeneity. These preliminary coregistration studies suggest that there may be an inverse correlation between [F]FLT uptake and ADC values, particularly in highly heterogeneous tumor regions. Ongoing work is aimed at unraveling and quantifying this relationship. Fig 2. Analysis of individual mice reveals one tumor that did not demonstrate a change in [F]FLT uptake, while a separate tumor demonstrated a decreased ADC post-treatment. In vivo imaging of cellular proliferation in renal cell carcinoma using 18F-fluorothymidine PET

Objective(s): The ability to measure cellular proliferation non-invasively in renal cell carcinoma may allow prediction of tumour aggressiveness and response to therapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the uptake of 18Ffluorothymidine (FLT) PET in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and to compare this to 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG), and to an immunohistochemical measure of cellular proliferatio...

Limits of [18F]-FLT PET as a Biomarker of Proliferation in Oncology

BACKGROUND Non-invasive imaging biomarkers of cellular proliferation hold great promise for quantifying response to personalized medicine in oncology. An emerging approach to assess tumor proliferation utilizes the positron emission tomography (PET) tracer 3'-deoxy-3'[(18)F]-fluorothymidine, [(18)F]-FLT. Though several studies have associated serial changes in [(18)F]-FLT-PET with elements of t...

Multimodal imaging of tumor response to sorafenib combined with radiation therapy: comparison between diffusion-weighted MRI, choline spectroscopy and 18F-FLT PET imaging.

The purpose of this study was to determine the value of different imaging modalities, that is, magnetic resonance imaging/spectroscopy (MRI/MRS) and positron emission tomography (PET), to assess early tumor response to sorafenib with or without radiotherapy. Diffusion-weighted (DW)-MRI, choline (1)H MRS at 11.7 T, and (18)F-FLT PET imaging were used to image fibrosarcoma (FSaII) tumor-bearing m...

Imaging Cellular Proliferation in Prostate Cancer with Positron Emission Tomography

Prostate cancer remains a major public health problem worldwide. Imaging plays an important role in the assessment of disease at all its clinical phases, including staging, restaging after definitive therapy, evaluation of therapy response, and prognostication. Positron emission tomography with a number of biologically targeted radiotracers has been demonstrated to have potential diagnostic and...

Role of Apparent diffusion coefficient value in Diffusion Weighted imaging of MRI to assessment of radiotherapy efficiency in the patient with glioma tumor during treatment

Introduction: Glioma is the most common primary malignancy of cerebral neoplasms in adults, which in spite of therapeutic significant efforts, has a very poor prognosis. The current standard treatment of these patients generally includes surgery and radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy with 6 courses of adjuvant use of temozolomide tabs. During these years, the nervous...
